Marine – A Division of ELGA Credit Union has announced the promotion of Byrania Bastian to Branch Manager of its Sebastian location at 1020 U.S. Highway 1. She succeeds Nicki Maslin, who has led the Sebastian branch since January 2023 and recently transitioned to Marine’s commercial lending team.

Bastian joined Marine in July 2022 and has served as Assistant Branch Manager of the Fort Pierce branch since January 2025. She is known for her commitment to supporting local businesses and engaging with the community. Her involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors for the Treasure Coast Gilrs Coalition, an organization dedicated to empowering young girls to grow with confidence and purpose.

Maslin has returned to her commercial lending roots and now focuses on helping local businesses secure the capital they need to grow and succeed. She has been widely recognized for her professional achievements and community involvement, including being named a 40 Under 40 honoree by Vero Life Magazine and Young Professional of the Year by the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce.

Her additional honors include the Hope Through Service Award from the Hope for Families Center and graduation from Leadership Indian River County. Maslin is deeply engaged in the community, serving as an Advisory Board Member for the Environmental Learning Center and holding leadership roles with several organizations, including the Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival, BNI Power Partners of Indian River County, and the Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce. She is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Sebastian and the Sebastian Exchange Club, and serves as Social Chair for the Dancing with Vero’s Stars committee benefiting the IRC Healthy Start Coalition. She was recently recognized with the Volunteer Appreciation Award from the Sebastian River Area Chamber and is a past recipient of its Ambassador of the Year honor.

“Byrania brings an undeniable passion and commitment to the communities she serves, and we expect nothing less in Sebastian,” said Bill Penney, Florida Market President. “Her infectious energy and dedication will continue to strengthen relationships with our members and local businesses.”

“Nicki is following her passion and returning to commercial lending,” Penney added. “Her relationship-focused approach has always set her apart, and she will continue to make a meaningful impact by helping businesses grow. She is a great example of how Marine remains committed to investing in our business community—one loan at a time.”
